There are two kinds of people :
- People who have zero unread emails & an organized system.
- Everyone else
If you fall under #1 – CONGRATS! You’ve got your sh## together. If you fall under #2 – than this post is for you!
Between my 3 different email accounts I am 100% guilty of having the 800 unread notification up on my phone. When checking my email I scan the subject lines – click on the work related emails – then circle back around to all the retail deals of the days. 9 times out of 10 I read the subject lines but don’t actually click on them.
And that ladies and gentlemen is why I have an exploding inbox!
In an effort to eliminate your clogged inbox you can work hard to :
- Establish a routine
- Organize categories + subjects
- Mark as unread
- Unsubscribe to all junk mail
- Send less – Receive less
If done right – this method will prove to be effective. But who honestly has the time to sit and spend a couple hours doing that? I know I don’t!
Thankfully, their are awesome people out there who also found this to be a problem & set out to fix it!
